The orange tart is a perfect dessert to start the day or to break hunger in the middle of the afternoon. The taste of the orange jam tart will be appreciated by those who love simple things and the tastes of the past, rustic and not very refined.
Did not you know that it is also a healthy dessert? The orange, with its load of vitamins and antioxidants, is a panacea for the body. It is rich in vitamin C and has diuretic, purifying and digestive properties.
The process of preparing our orange tart is very simple and the result … to lick your mustache!
- 300 g of flour from the Mulino Val d’Orcia
- 100 ml of oil from the Frantoio Etrusco
- 120 g of brown sugar
- 1 egg and a yolk
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- half-orange juice
- 1 jar of orange jam from La Bottega di Stigliano
STEP 1 – First prepare the short pastry. Sift the flour into a bowl, add half a teaspoon of baking powder, sugar, half-orange juice, an egg and a yolk and oil.
STEP 2 – Start kneading using only the fingertips and when you have obtained a homogeneous mixture let it rest in the fridge for an hour.
STEP 3 – After 60 minutes, with the help of a rolling pin, spread it on a pastry board. Grease a cake pan with a diameter of 28 cm, dust with flour and then place the shortcrust pastry in it, pricking the bottom with a fork.
STEP 4 – Spread over the pastry the orange jam from the Bottega di Stigliano and decorate to taste. Today I decorate with flowers and nice butterflies!
STEP 5 – Bake at 180 degrees for 25-30 minutes. When the cake is cooked, let it cool, sprinkle with icing sugar and … enjoy your tasting!
